Recreation

Parkwood provides an environment for retired people to enjoy the freedom of choosing their own type and level of activity from a range of entertainment opportunities, gardening, sports and hobbies.

The village is set in 25 hectares of grounds within which numerous walks meander through native bush, botanical type gardens and around lakes and dells. Residents are able to tend the gardens around their own villas and, if they wish, reap the rewards of the mild climate with a vegetable gardening allotment.

Social Centres

The Parklands Social Centre comprises a dining room (where midday meals are served each day except Wednesday and Sunday), hall with stage, lounge, theatre (with projector and screen), library, billiards room and Village Care office.

The Lloyd Parker Plateau Centre comprises a dining room, lounge, arts and crafts room, fitness centre and pool. Its view over Tui Dell makes it a popular place for residents to have coffee or a prearranged meal with friends. A midday meal is served in this centre on Wednesdays and Sundays.
